Sauna 4.5 kW drawing electricity 5 hours a day, costing around 90 kWh over a four-day stay, which means, at 0.30 to 0.40 euro per kWh, a cost of 27 to 36 euro per stay. With twelve lets a year, that quickly adds up to 150-300 euro, simply because guests leave the sauna heating without paying for it themselves. By metering the sauna's consumption separately and making it available for prepaid purchase, you no longer bear that cost. In the case of few lets or a small sauna, the investment in that separation may not be worthwhile; it depends on your own figures.
