A weekly figure doesn't exist, an annual average does

There is no fixed, national weekly figure for the electricity consumption of a holiday home: CBS records residential electricity consumption per year, not per week, and certainly not with separate categorization for short-term holiday rental. What does exist is an annual average for Dutch residences in general, by housing type and by neighborhood. This figure provides a good starting point to get a sense of the order of magnitude, but it concerns a residence that is inhabited year-round by a household with a stable consumption pattern.

A holiday home differs from this in several respects, which makes consumption per week unstable rather than stable. There is a week of vacancy with almost no consumption, a busy summer week with four adults showering daily, cooking and running the air conditioning, and everything in between. Also, the number of guests, the season, the presence of a pool, sauna or charging station, and the heating setting during vacancy make a difference per week. Therefore, CBS's annual average can be divided as an indication, but it is not a prediction of what a particular week will consume.

What the CBS figure counts and doesn't count

The CBS figure from the table on energy consumption of residences gives the average electricity consumption per year, categorized by housing type, area and neighborhood, based on regular occupancy. It is not designed for short-term rental, seasonal occupancy or varying numbers of guests, and therefore does not include a separate category or adjustment for holiday homes. For an estimate of your own consumption, your own meter, or the real-time consumption overview that a guest sees during their stay, remains a more direct source than a national annual average.
