There is no weekly figure, but there is an annual average

There is no fixed national weekly figure for electricity use in a holiday home: CBS keeps records of electricity use in homes per year, not per week, and certainly not broken down by vacation rentals. What does exist is an annual average for homes in the Netherlands in general, depending on the type of home and the neighborhood. This figure is a good starting point to understand the order of magnitude, but it applies to a home where people live year-round, a single household with a fixed usage pattern.

A holiday home differs on several points, and this means that the usage per week is irregular rather than fixed. There is an empty week with almost no usage, a busy summer week with four adults showering, cooking and running air conditioning every day, and everything in between. There is also variation from week to week depending on the number of guests, the season, whether there is a swimming pool, sauna or charging point, and the heating arrangement during the vacation. Because of this, the CBS annual average can be divided to gain some insight, but it is not a prediction of how much a particular week will use.

What the CBS figure measures and what it does not measure

The figure from the CBS table on energy consumption of homes gives the average electricity consumption per year, broken down by type of home, area and neighborhood, based on standard residence. It is not designed for short-term rentals, seasonal occupation or variable numbers of guests, and therefore there is no specific category or adjustment for holiday homes. To estimate your own usage, the meter itself remains, or the live usage summary that the guest sees during the stay, as a more direct source than a national annual average.
