Privacy statement

1. Who is responsible?

Staywatt is a service of Point2Create BV, Energieweg 1, 3133 EB Vlaardingen, Netherlands, KvK 63324547. For all privacy questions, you can reach us at office@staywatt.eu.

2. Which data do we process?

With an account: your name, email address, company name, VAT number and billing details. With the selection tool: your answers and, if you provide it, your email address. When visiting the site: anonymised visit statistics.

From a guest who purchases electricity: the consumption and credit of the property where they are staying, and the payment with which they purchased that credit. A consumption pattern says something about when someone is at home, and therefore we record it at the property and not at a person: we do not ask a guest for an account and not for their name.

We do not sell data to third parties, and we do not use a guest's consumption for anything other than the billing for which they purchased it.

3. Why and how long?

We process account data to be able to provide the service and to invoice; we keep invoices for seven years because tax law requires it. We keep answers to the selection tool until you have them deleted.

We keep a guest's consumption data for as long as the billing is ongoing and thereafter for as long as the landlord needs it to substantiate that billing. After that, consumption only remains as a total per property, without a stay linked to it.

4. Your rights

You can view, correct, delete or export your data. You don't even have to ask us: via Settings → Download all your data you get everything we have about you as a ZIP file with one click. If you prefer to send us a message, we will respond within thirty days. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

5. The meter in the accommodation

The module in the fuse box reports to us approximately once per minute: the meter reading per circuit, the credit remaining and whether the power is on or off. That is measurement data from a accommodation and not from a person — there is no name attached to it, and the module does not know who is inside.

Yet that sequence is more sensitive than it appears. If someone keeps it long enough, they can see when someone is at home, when they are showering and when a property is empty. That is why we keep the measurements at minute level briefly — long enough to support a billing statement — and after that only the total per stay. What remains is a figure in kilowatt hours, not a daily pattern.

The module communicates exclusively with our own server, over an encrypted connection, using a password that applies only to that one module. It cannot read along at another property, not even in the event of a malfunction: this is not only agreed but enforced in the server permissions.

6. Who is responsible for what?

The landlord determines what he charges his guest and what data he needs for that; he is the controller for that processing. We provide the measurement and the billing and process that data on his behalf.

For your own account data — your name, your invoices, your properties — we are that ourselves. This distinction is mentioned here because it determines who you should contact: about the consumption of your stay with the landlord, about your account with us.

7. Cookies

Functional cookies for login and security are always on. We place statistics cookies only after your consent, and you can refuse them without the site working any less.

A guest who only buys electricity does not need to accept anything and does not receive a statistics cookie: that page must work on a phone on a weak wifi, and not force a choice first.
